My name is [INAUDIBLE] Gray. I am finishing my second year at the Vermont Law School and I'll be the 2019-2020 Student Bar Association President.
I'm Madison [INAUDIBLE]. And I came to Vermont Law School from Texas. So it was a really big change for me. And I'm really happy that I came here because I love this place and I love the people.
My name is [INAUDIBLE] Shallot. I go by Vesh, that's my nickname. And I'm a-- currently I'm 2L in Vermont Law School and a rising 3L. And yeah, I'm pursuing a degree, a JD degree, and specifically focusing on Cybersecurity Law and Energy Law.
My name is Andrew Cliburn, and I'm a 1L. On December 4th, 2017, President Trump revoked two national monuments in the state of Utah. And I decided on that day that I would come here to learn how to fight back.
I'm Sarah, I'm a 1L and I'm a JD and [INAUDIBLE] student. I came to Vermont Law School because I'm really interested in environmental law. And when I came to visit VLS, in the spring, when I was deciding. I thought the VLS community was really welcoming, that everyone here was really nice. And I knew that it was a place that I wanted to study for the next three years.
Vermont Law School was that wholesome and wholistic change. And I landed on wbls, because of the culture, because of the people.
I chose for Vermont Law School because I was ready for a change. And because we have a great reputation for being an environmental law school. And because when I came to visit here, I felt like the people here really cared about getting to know me, and helping me move here, and just be a part of the community.
It's a laboratory for ways to think about how to be a citizen. About how to be an attorney. About how to be a student. Vermont is an amazing place.
There is a great amount of diversity in terms of the programs that are offered here. And I know that we have this image as environmental and energy type law school, but there are other great programs here as well, such as the international program, the criminal justice program, and restorative justice program, specifically. And the community here is great people are friendly, professors are engaging.
I would say really take into account the community and environment that you want to study in for the next three years, and how important it is to you, the kind of people you want to surround yourself with.
I would say that this is a great place to be and that once you're here, you'll definitely be integrated with the community and you're going to love it.
I don't think there's ever been a more important time for people who, if they think they're interested, in studying law or policy, to make the leap, to do it and to come to a place that they feel passionate about and to trust in the process.
This is a lifestyle overhaul, and the only way that you have a decision like that and make the right one is if you know you are going into this dynamic, fulfilling your mission, whatever that may be. This place can offer you the best tools to realize your goals.
